A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed today between the Education Department of the State Government and the Cambridge Partnership for Education for the purpose of formulating the best curriculum for the Mission School of Excellence at Gandhinagar. Education Minister Shri Jitubhai Waghan expressed confidence that this MoU would provide an opportunity to the students of the state to get education of international standard.

આજે ગાંધીનગર ખાતે મિશન સ્કૂલ ઓફ એક્સલન્સ માટે સર્વોત્તમ અભ્યાસક્રમ ઘડી શકાય તે હેતુથી રાજ્ય સરકારના શિક્ષણ વિભાગ અને કેમ્બ્રિજ પાર્ટનરશીપ ફોર એજ્યુકેશન વચ્ચે સમજૂતી કરાર કરવામાં આવ્યો હતો. આ સમજૂતી કરારથી રાજ્યના વિદ્યાર્થીઓને આંતરરાષ્ટ્રીયકક્ષાનું શિક્ષણ મેળવવા તક મળશે તેવો વિશ્વાસ શિક્ષણ મંત્રી શ્રી જીતુભાઈ વાઘાણીએ વ્યક્ત કર્યો હતો.
શિક્ષણ મંત્રી શ્રી વાઘાણીએ વધુ વિગતો આપતાં કહ્યું કે, સમગ્ર દેશમાં આંતરરાષ્ટ્રીય શિક્ષણ ક્ષેત્રે આ પ્રથમ સમજૂતી કરાર છે. આ એમઓયુ કરવાનો હેતુ ૨૧મી સદીના આંતરરાષ્ટ્રીય શૈક્ષણિક ધોરણોને ધ્યાને રાખી ધોરણ-૬થી ૧૨ના વિદ્યાર્થીઓ માટે સર્વોત્તમ અભ્યાસક્રમ તૈયાર કરવાનો છે. કેમ્બ્રિજ સાથેની આ ભાગીદારી આવનારા સમયમાં ગુજરાતના વિદ્યાર્થીઓના શિક્ષણનું સ્તર વધુ ઊંચું લઇ જવા માટે મદદરૂપ સાબિત થશે.
આ એમઓયુ અભ્યાસક્રમમાં ઘડતર, મૂલ્યાંકન, શૈક્ષણિક અને ભૌતિક સંસાધનોનો મહત્તમ ઉપયોગ, શિક્ષકોની તાલીમ વગેરેને આવરી લેવા માટે ખૂબ જ ઉપયોગી સાબિત થશે. વિદ્યાર્થીઓ વધુ કૌશલ્યવાન બને તે માટે અંગ્રેજીનું શિક્ષણ તેમજ દ્વિભાષી માધ્યમથી શિક્ષણ આપવામાં આવશે તેમજ વિદ્યાર્થીઓનું મૂલ્યાંકન આંતરરાષ્ટ્રીય ધોરણો મુજબ કરવામાં આવશે.
આ પ્રસંગે રાજ્ય શિક્ષણ મંત્રી શ્રી કિર્તીસિંહ વાઘેલા, શિક્ષણ સચિવ ડૉ. વિનોદ રાવ અને ગુજરાત માધ્યમિક શિક્ષણ બોર્ડના અધ્યક્ષ શ્રી એ.જે. શાહ તથા કેમ્બ્રિજ સાઉથ એશિયાના મેનેજિંગ ડિરેક્ટર શ્રી અરુણ રાજામણી ઉપસ્થિત રહ્યાં હતા.

Giving more details, Education Minister Shri Waghan said that this is the first MoU in the field of international education in the entire country. The purpose of this MoU is to prepare the best curriculum for the students of Std-9 to 12 keeping in view the international educational standards of 21st century. This partnership with Cambridge will be instrumental in raising the standard of education of Gujarat students in the years to come.
This MoU will be very useful for covering curriculum development, evaluation, maximum utilization of educational and material resources, training of teachers etc. In order to make the students more proficient, English will be taught as well as through bilingual medium and students will be assessed according to international standards.
On this occasion, Minister of State for Education Shri Kirtisinh Vaghela, Education Secretary Dr. Vinod Rao and Gujarat Board of Secondary Education Chairman Shri A.J. Shah and Mr. Arun Rajamani, Managing Director, Cambridge South Asia were present.
